Lesmill
Don Valley West (Ward 25)
Week of August 08, 2011
Following Toronto Hydro Electric System Limited’s construction notification issued in January 2011, we will be resuming construction in the Lesmil area. The existing system is nearing the end of its life expectancy and if left unattended, it could hamper our ability to maintain a reliable level of service to you and your neighbours.
We expect the civil construction work to run from early July to late October, 2011 and the electrical work is anticipated for completion in 2012. The electrical phase involves cabling and equipment positioning, during this phase you may experience some power interruptions. They will be necessary to switch from the old to the new supply arrangements. We will endeavour to keep the interruptions to a minimum and to give you prior notice.
The current 4kV system is set-up in the ‘rear lot’ or backyards of customers’ homes. If and when there are storms, these ‘rear lot’ configurations can take longer to repair and customers can experience longer than normal outages. We are planning to move this system to the front of your home and then bury it underground with above ground pad mounted transformer boxes.
The affected streets of this project are Charnwood Road, Donmac Drive, Southwell Drive, Torryburn Place, Ballyronan Road, Merredin Place and Hurlingham Crescent. The project area is outlined on the map.
With the installation of the service ducts to the meter base of your home, Toronto Hydro and our authorized contractor, Entera Utilities, will be proceeding with the installation of ducts and hydro equipment in the City of Toronto’s public road allowance. This work involves open trenching and micro tunneling.
Similar to the first phase of construction, entry to your house will not be required. If you have any doubts about someone claiming to be "from Hydro", ask to see the person's Toronto Hydro identity card, which includes the employee’s name and colour photograph.

Keele
Parkdale-High Park (Ward 14)
Week of August 08, 2011
Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited (THESL) is in the process of rebuilding some of the overhead and underground electrical equipment in your neighbourhood. The purpose of the project is to install new underground concrete encased ducts as well as replace three existing hydro poles that are nearing the end of their life expectancy.
The construction is scheduled to commence in mid August 2011 and completion is expected by September 2011. Project boundaries include Floral Parkway (North), Rustic Road (South), Macleod Street (East) and Keele Street (West). New poles are usually planted within one meter of the existing pole.
Throughout our work, you will experience a power interruption. This is necessary to switch from the old to the new supply arrangements. We will endeavour to keep the interruption to a minimum time-period and to give you advanced notice of the outage. We apologize for any inconvenience resulting from this necessary work and remind you to correct your electric clocks as required.
